About the gallery of characters created by Urmuz in his „Bizarre Tales” it has been said that they are crossbreeds of the animal regnum and machines. 

How would it look, the encounter of a young man, who lacks cultural and moral landmarks, living in Bucharest in 2016 with a surrealist world if a temporal vortex would throw him in this imaginary world? Urmuz’s characters make up for a strange menagerie in which the strangest urges and reactions mix together: violence and tenderness, animal veracity and shyness, aberrant sexuality and spiritual pursuits.

What strikes about this mechanical - anthropomorphic world is the intensity of feelings and reactions, cruelty and carelessness, sensorial sharpness of the environments in which they exist. Can we find landmarks for deciphering the vices of life in this „world in a book”, in a big city almost a century away?

It is said that just before we die we can see our lives. Our show intends to present a bizarre world that our anonymous and strange Urmuz could visit along with someone contemporary to us, before firing a bullet to his head in a park in Bucharest, for reasons we cannot understand to this day.

What do you do if a good friend wants to commit suicide? How do you help him?

Is a romantic relationship possible between two persons with opposing beliefs about love and death? About God?

What is waiting for us on the other side? Do we have the answers all prepared forehand?

When a young debutant lawyer meets and makes friends with a nonconformist IT who is hiding a sad past, all these issues come up gradually.

The makers of the show have repeatedly asked themselves these questions of actuality in the context of contemporary Romanian society and we hope that the spectators of this quest would find their own answer, in conformity with their own set of values and beliefs.
