Carmen Lidia Vidu este artista care a promis că nu se va opri niciodată din experiment. Un jurnal este un exerciţiu de sinceritate, care dezvăluie şi ascunde deopotrivă. Un oraş nu are un singur chip, cum arată el depinde de cine şi de unde îl priveşte. Sf. Gheorghe din Jurnalul de România al regizoarei este oraşul din privirea şi alcătuirea a 6 actori venetici din trupa Teatrului Andrei Mureşanu, pe care aceasta îi provoacă la o socratică dezbrăcare a sufletelor. Un joc al dezvăluirilor şi tăinuirilor, fotograme din filmul vieţii celor 6 actori: despre origini, frici şi răbdare; despre limba română şi maghiari, chirii, căutări, evadări și confruntări cu diferenţa; despre meseria istovitoare de actor, spectatori, visuri, rătăciri, iubiri şi răbdare; despre aşteptări, ratări, dezamăgiri, şocuri, confuzii, copii, neputinţă, furie şi răbdare; despre pierderi, câştiguri, revolte şi povestea celor 7 pucişti care au speriat estul teatral; despre fericire, tensiuni, pasiuni, ipocrizii, aroganţe, tatuaje; despre prima premieră şi moartea care bate teatrul; despre locul preferat care e acasă. Despre arta de a răbda. Jurnal de România este spaţiul de dialog pe care artista Carmen Lidia Vidu l-a deschis din nevoia de a-şi cunoaşte generaţia şi, prin ea, România mai puţin turistică şi mai puţin televizată.

Carmen Lidia Vidu is the artist who promised that will never stop experimenting. A diary is an exercise of sincerity, that reveals and hides information altogether. A city doesn’t have a single face, its look depends on the beholder – who and from where is looking at it. Sf. Gheorghe, in the director’s Romanian Diary, is the city seen and composed by the view of 6 actors who were not born here but now live in it, after joining the Andrei Mureșanu Theatre. The director challenges the actors to unveil their souls. A game of truths and secrets, photograms of their lives: about origins, fears and patience; about Romanian language and the Hungarians, rents, searches, escapes and confrontations with the differences; about the exhausting job of an actor, spectators, dreams, wanderings, love(s) and patience; about expectations, failures, disappointments, shocks, confusions, children, weakness, fury and patience; about losses, wins, rebellions and the story of the 7 actors and their putsch that scared the theatrical east; about happiness, tensions, passions, hypocrisy, arrogance, tattoos; about the first premiere and death that beats the theatre, about the favourite place that is home. About the art of abide. Romanian Diary is the space of dialogue that the artist, Carmen Lidia Vidu, has opened as a result of her need to better know her generation, and, through it, the less touristic and broadcasted Romania.
